In addition to the 808 nm wavelength, the 1064 nm (Nd-YAG) wavelength—specially designed for naturally darker skin tones—is ideal for medium, dark, mixed-race, and black skins, as well as deeply rooted hairs.

It makes it possible to differentiate between the melanin of the hair and the melanin of the skin. Because this wavelength is only minimally absorbed by skin melanin, it penetrates deeper into the tissue.
